A Presentation on Conservation and Adaptive Reuse at the Union of Historical Towns
At the first ordinary 2026 meeting of the Assembly of the Union of Historical Towns, ASMA’s conservation and adaptive reuse work in Burdur and Uluborlu was shared with Union President Mansur Yavaş, the mayors of member municipalities, and the participants of the meeting.
Working with a historic building requires not only understanding and preserving the past but also developing new proposals for the building’s future life. Each intervention seeks to establish a new relationship between the building’s past and future — one that draws the architect into a demanding design process.
This gathering, where design could be discussed alongside conservation and experiences from different cities were shared, was especially valuable for ASMA.
