Ali Sinan’s Presentation on the Urban Development of Eğirdir at TED University

In his presentation at the Faculty of Architecture of TED University, architect Ali Sinan examined the urban development of Eğirdir through the lens of architecture and planning.

The presentation assessed the city’s historical development, its natural and cultural values, and the spatial problems it faces today across different scales. Ranging from city-scale planning decisions to the scale of the single building, it drew on projects Ali Sinan developed and realised for Eğirdir.

Through projects produced in different periods, the relationship architecture establishes with the city, the shore, public space and the existing fabric in Eğirdir was discussed; it was emphasised that, alongside built projects, ideas produced but not realised also form an intellectual reserve for the city’s future.

The presentation concluded with a question-and-answer and discussion session with students.
